valleyDo you have faith in God? I couldn’t breathe without faith. I inhale and I know that there’s air for me. Being a believer requires faith, because that’s when the devil deliberately passes over millions of people on the earth, and targets YOU. You can’t do it without God.

Built in the Valley

Faith in God gives you more of Him (His wisdom, deliverance, protection, understanding, favor, and more) than you would have otherwise. I got a revelation on faith earlier today: Faith is built in the valley of the shadow of death.  That’s when there’s noone there but you and God. It’s also when you discover that your deliverance came from Him and noone else. (more…)

on your marks, race, starting line, starting pointI’ve been thinking a lot recently about Dr. Gerald Mann, the pastor of Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas where I visited several times. He made an impression on me.

His story is filled with up, downs, crashes and triumphs. He built a small church of a few dozen members into one of the nation’s mega-churches. He’s always found himself at odds with his Baptist denomination. He left Austin’s most liberal Baptist church and formed a church that mostly stays out of politics and social issues and focuses on serving singles, divorced people and others bruised and battered by churches. Mustard Seed Faith: The Prerequisite to Growing More Faith

Faith takes faith. In other words, you have to have some faith in order to have more faith in order to have undaunted faith (See Matthew 17:20 below):

Mat 17:20  And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Note: See ‘Key Elements of Faith: Do You Believe?’ for more on building your faith.

You have to start with a little bit of faith and build it over time until you know God intimately and see for yourself how great He really is. (more…)

If you don’t already know, this clip is the Intro from a classic American show called, “Greatest American Hero.” And what’s the point of me posting this video, you ask? It’s to illustrate that faith requires you to fly, or to at least try. You have to step out of your comfort zone (the nest) and take the chance of trusting in God. That is the only way to ever really achieve all that He wants you to achieve in life, and to fulfill your true calling.

Excessive reasoning is contrary to faith. God is a Spirit, and He is unseen, so to speak. Consequently, faith is required in order for one to believe in God. Excessive reasoning convinces us that we have to see something or someone in order for them to exist. It’s reasonable to reason. That’s because we are fleshly, and we depend on our five senses and our ability to think logically and assess situations to make many of our decisions.  However, being too logical with our thoughts will prevent us from achieving the levels of faith and breakthrough that God desires for us.

The substance of things hoped for, based on KJV Hebrews 11 in the Bible. See verse one below:

Heb 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Going Deeper
I want to analyze this verse further. Do you see what I see in the title (before we even get to ‘the substance of things hoped for’)? What I’m referring to is, ‘Faith IS’. ‘It’ is. Everything you want or desire IS. Faith is knowing ‘it is’. It is what? It is there! Your victory, your breakthrough, your accomplishment is there by faith.

To Believe

Nothing moves God more than finding a believer who really believes. This statement sounds confusing, but let me clarify it. Many people believe there is a God. It seems the term ‘believer’ has become synonymous with ‘simply believing God exists’. I contend that believing goes much further than that. Believers should be people that not only believe there is A God, but they should also believe IN God.
